Day 13 - Freedom Assembly Video
We watched more Oscar trailers.
We wrote about Freedom (#3).
Then we helped Ethan with his freedom assembly video.
What Do You Dream? (Freedom Assembly 2015) from Espial Effects on Vimeo.
Oh yeah, and I told you that CW1 was more advanced than CW2 because they wrote more.
Next time:
I'll be in Vegas looking for a new job.
You'll have time to write (Oscars #4).
You'll have time to collaborate (Project #1).
You'll have time to share (Mini-slam #4).

Day 12 - Mini-Slam #3
Valentine's Day Eve. Friday the 13th.
We shared Valentines, Roah broke our hearts (but he promised he'd be at the next one), E.J. read a dope poem, River dropped sick beats, and Madie/Olive tried out for class videographer/assistant. (Someone ask her to put the performances on YouTube or something.)
There were poems about colors and places. There were rough drafts. There were first time readers and repeat offenders. There was even a poem that had Humpty Dumpty as a girl.
Ethan Harris (eharris97.utah@gmail.com), who made the Lone Peak We See You video, gave us an assignment:
Think of this as an audition. He is making a video for the Freedom Assembly next Friday, and he wants to use our slam poetry skills. So let's not let him down.
If we don't have at least 10 people post videos, I'm going to find another teacher to teach the class.

Ethan Harris (eharris97.utah@gmail.com), who made the Lone Peak We See You video, gave us an assignment:
- write a poem about freedom/patriotism/dreams
- film yourself reading it (nothing fancy, just SPEAK UP)
- post it to your blog (due Monday)

Day 10 - I Know Places
2. We brought journals back from the dead. We even wrote something in our journals:
PROMPT #1: Places
Here are some highlights:
3. And then, I'm not kidding, we studied I Know Places by Taylor Swift.

Day 9 - Project #1 Time
Tuesday, February 3, 2015
Day 8 - Mini-Slam #2
And on the 8th day, we created magic.
We read stuff, and we listened, and we had a few visitors. Tara read, and E.J. read to Feliz Navidad, and Anna read, and Mr. Rees read, and River played music.
Mccall read and Colby read and Sara read and Reagan read and John read and Sam read.
Emma read and Mallary read and Morgan read and Cole read and Abby read and Jess read.
Megan read and Isaac read and Natty read and Tanner read and Michael read.
There were poems about monsters and compassion and little sisters and cat calls and no means no and a poem that recapped it all.
There were poems about graduation and driving and slavery and Alpine and love and heartbreak.
There were loud poems and quiet poems, rap poems and scream poems. There were teacher poems and student poems and poems with music and poems with silence and everything in between.
YOU ARE ALL WITNESSES
I honestly don't know how we can keep this up all year. We don't have the energy, do we?
